Our Mission
Our mission is to provide food kits (meals and snacks) to students in need every Friday throughout the school year, offering support for the weekend when school meals are not available.
-
Our Why
Children who do not have continuous access to basic necessities are at a significant disadvantage and may face many challenges.
Students who do not have access to adequate food arrive at school hungry and have difficulties concentrating, which can lead to absenteeism and behavioral/disciplinary issues.
-
Our Vision
At Bright Eyed, we believe all students should thrive at school and have access to the necessities that foster their growth and development.
We also imagine a future where Bright Eyed can expand our assistance to more towns in Worcester & Middlesex County.
Our Impact
All Children Should Flourish
Children are more likely to face food insecurity than any other population in the United States. Per the USDA, more than 13 million children face hunger in the United States - our community included.
Approximately 26% of households with children in Massachusetts are suffering from food insecurity post-pandemic, leaving those children wondering where their next meal will come from. (Source: Project Bread, U.S. Household Pulse Survey)
